Blizzard's Prejudice? Profanity Filter Failed

Dear Blizzard Entertainment,

While your profanity filter turning back on automatically has been a minor nuisance, I'm a little perturbed to see that a three-letter word starting in F and ending in G, commonly an insult towards gay men, is not blocked by the mature language filter. I always assumed it was blocked, but with the recent trouble with the mature language filter not staying off, I noticed that it was a word that slips by unblocked. Generally I think very little of censorship, but it seems that you (Blizzard Entertainment) don't view this word as offensive. Many of us in the gay community do, and would LOOSELY compare it to a white supremacist using the N-word. These two words have a VERY different history, and while there is not the same level of animosity associated with the three-letter F-word, there is still enough history that a company should know better than to treat it differently than other derogatory labels.

I am disappointed in Blizzard (Harassment)

I don't really post on the forums, but when i do i make sure it's a valid point. This thread isn't for me to prance around say look at me, look at me i'm a girl please carry me through content. This thread is to explain how Blizzard has failed me as a paying customer and has really made me consider quitting something that i love to play for fun.

RBG Guides and stuff

Hello gentlefolks.

I am a Vanilla:WoW player, leading premade CtF since summer of 2005. I have been part of many world #1st PvE kills, and lead 1 PvE Guild and 2 PvP guilds to victory as guild leader for 4 seasons (counting lvl 60 WoW).

Will You Level A Pandaren?

No. Just no. I can't seem to get an alt more than part way in Outland. No amount of rolly-pollyness will do the trick, I am pretty darn sure.

That's what I get for playing on-and-off (mostly on) for over 7 years...

But then again maybe by 2013 I will be refreshed enough from my long vacation from this game.

Yes, that's right, you're a bunch of fucking retarded idiots!

If you've been following the Blizzard Entertainment vs Bossland GmbH lawsuit, this is big news. I did an interview with Hawker awhile back that gave us some indication that Bossland GmbH had been prepping up and insulating their company against a lawsuit by Blizzard Entertainment for a long while, but now the unexpected has happened.

On January 9, 2012 at 18:40, Bossland GmbH formally announced on their official website that they will seek recompense from Activision Blizzard in a lawsuit in which Bossland GmbH and their legal representatives assert that Blizzard's End User License Agreement and Terms of Service were not a part of the game's purchase contract, and that the EULA and ToS are, "...intransparent, surprising, and incomprehensible..."

The lawsuit will be handled by the court in Berlin, and the German rejoinder can be found at this link for those interested. As always, we wish Bossland GmbH the best in their battle against Activision Blizzard. MMOGlider was not fortunate enough to have the legal insulation and preparedness for an onslaught from Blizzard Entertainment's lawyers. but perhaps Bossland GmbH will level the playing field and change the precedent in the ongoing legal battles between game developers and third-party software developers.

Project Fiona Concept PC Gaming Tablet by Razer

Project Fiona

Project Fiona

It's a tablet. It's a pc.

Project Fiona Concept Tablet runs a PC environment on a powerful next generation Intel processor ready to play all of your favorite PC games. This tablet concept is running advanced applications on an ultra portable form factor, bringing hardcore PC gaming on the go.

Immersive gaming on the go

Project Fiona features full force feedback in each of its integrated dual gaming controllers so every bump you drive over, sword attack you block, and explosion you walk away from is giving you a more immersive and intense gaming experience.

Audio on tablets sucks today but gaming audio on Project Fiona has never been better with Dolby 7.1 surround sound and it's the only tablet today to be certified by world renowned audio specialists THX.

PC gaming hybrid user interface

Project Fiona redefines how you control your tablet. Engineered with intuitive game controllers attached on both sides of the multi-touch display this tablet offers the ultimate tablet gaming experience. Other tablets force you to use touchscreens and accelerometers for gaming which is great for casual gaming but impossible for hardcore PC gaming. This constrains you to casual games that can be played with limited navigation and control capabilities.

Adapted from a full featured PC gamepad, Project Fiona's integrated dual controllers coupled with its advanced multi-touch screen are designed to make complex game navigation ergonomic and intuitive without compromising on the portability of the tablet. You'll be able to carry out headshots and command troops in-game with ease.

This first-of-its-kind PC gaming tablet with integrated dual controllers is definitely not for playing casual games about unhappy birds or zombie-killing flora.

Tech Specs

  • Hybrid user interface for PC gaming
  • Intel® Core™ i7
  • 10.1" 1280x800 display
  • Full-screen user interface supporting multi-touch

World of Warcraft PTR Patch 4.3.2 Notes

The first World of Warcraft: Cataclysm patch of the year is in development and now available for testing on the Public Test Realms. This minor patch includes several updates that we were unable to apply via hotfixes, including the recently announced cross-realm raids, assorted class balance fixes, and more. If you'd like to help us test out this patch and provide feedback, you can start by copying your character over to a test realm. Once you've had a chance to try things out, be sure to visit our Public Test Realm forum to discuss the patch.

Classes: General

Vengeance is no longer triggered by receiving damage from other players.

Druids

  • The Tier 13 Balance Druid 4-piece bonus now also increases the damage of Starsurge by 10%, in addition to its current effect.

Hunters

  • Aspect of the Hawk now grants roughly 35% more attack power.
  • Deterrence now also reduces damage taken by 30% while active.
  • Black Arrow now ticks every 2 seconds for 20 seconds, as opposed to every 3 seconds for 15 seconds. The total damage dealt by the ability is unchanged.
  • Land Load no longer benefits Arcane Shot, nor is it consumed by Arcane Shot.

Mages

  • Fireball damage has been reduced by roughly 6%.
  • Pyroblast damage has been reduced by roughly 6%.

Paladins

  • Holy Radiance now costs 40% of base mana, up from 35%.

Priests

  • Mass Dispel should again prefer dispelling targets that have magic effects that can be dispelled.

Dungeons & Raids

  • You can now form same-faction raids with Real ID friends, allowing you to enter Raid Finder in groups larger than 5, run older normal or heroic raids, or participate in Battlegrounds. You will not yet be able to run normal or heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm raids of Real ID friends.
  • Several typo fixes and clarified descriptions have been added to the Dungeon Journal entries for Dragon Soul.
  • Players can no longer win multiple copies of the same item on a single Raid Finder boss kill. For example, a player who chooses Need on two set piece tokens or two weapons and wins the first, will not be eligible for the second on that particular boss.

Blizzard Codename “Titan” World of Warcraft 2?

We all have heard by now that Blizzard is working on a new MMO codenamed Titan. But thats all we really know about it. Some think its a new IP . But my thoughts are a little differnt on that subject. Why would Blizzard be making a "new" MMO with WoW still doing very well. As history tells us anything, follow-up MMOs don't do as well as the first. Everquest did well but EQ2 never reached the fame as the first. So why try tp split your fan base between to games. Hear me out before you pass judgement. I believe Titan is in fact WoW2. Not stated to come out till 2014 it would allow player to more than finish out MoP and fullfill anything in WoW they where hoping to do. Also the name Titan brings to thought Path of the Titan that was to be in Cata but was later removed. Also Titans are spoken of in many parts of WoW but never really explored but in a few quest. WoW is starting to show its age, but still being the best. Nothing has came out or well come out to stop the titan that is WoW. The only thing that will stop it is another WoW. Search your minds and tell me what you thing and why. Block out what Blizzard says cause we know at this point they will say anything.

VGAs 2010: Max interviews Blizzard about Titan

Max Scoville goes straight for the throat to get the latest on Titan, Blizzard's upcoming title. We also get the scoop on the Warcraft movie, and what games the guys at Blizzard play when they aren't swimming around in oceans of money.
